
TOURISM IN ANTIPOLO CITY
Antipolo City in the 80's was famous for Hinulugang Taktak, a waterfalls. However, now such waterfalll is no longer that an attraction because of its deteriorating condition. However, despite the removal of Hinulugang Taktak as the major tourist attraction, Antipolo City Still is full of beautiful sights to see.
Some of the more popular tourist attractions are listed below:
Antipolo Cathedral – which is regularly visited by people from various parts of the Metropolitan Manila and even The patron of the Church is Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage who protects travellers.
Hinulugang Taktak Falls – which is traditionally visited and is now a National Park. The waterfalls of Hinulugang Taktak is famed for its energetic sparks as it cascades down the cliff. Tourists can plan on a full day picnic with the convenience and comforts of cottages, clean public toilets and super-sized pools.
Eateries, Restaurant and Bars along Sumulong Hi-way, which have a nice view of the Metropolis, Laguna and Tagaytay areas especially during nights.
Convention & Conference Facilities like the Ynares Center can serve up to 7,000 delegates with wide grounds to accommodate exhibition booths and ample parking lots for exhibitors, delegates and other visitors collectively. Over 50 private resorts and hotels can individually accommodate more intimate numbers (up to 150). Two of the City’s pride, the Manolo M. Lopez Development Center (MMLDC) and the Eugenio Lopez Center offer world- class facilities.
Pinagmisahan-Via Dolorosa- On the highest peak along Kaytikling Road, the White Cross of Pinagmisahan hills majestically stands calling pilgrims to relive the saving grace of a procession and Holy Mass with the miraculous icon of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage to protect them from the deadly Cholera plague that took lives of many residents at the foot of its hills and surrounding towns.
Boso-boso Church Ruins. This centuries- old church destroyed during World War II was partly restructured to allow Sunday Services.
Mystical Caves- Mystical Stalagmites and Stalactites taking on shapes and faces of religious icons give one a sense of mysticism in the caverns of the Mystical Caves.
SUMAKAH Festival- A yearly festival celetharated every May 1 that showcases the culture of the Antipolonians and promotes the local delicacies as the Suman (sweetened steamed rice), Mangga (Mangoes) and Kasuy (Cashew) and the early days mode of transportation the Hamaka (hammock).
