However, Philippines is home ti not two, not three but four World Heritage Sites! Let’s start with the least known yet one of the most delightful for the senses.

“Hudhud” Ifugao Epic

The epic being the only South East Asian Cultural Piece selected by UNESCO bestows great honors upon the Ifugao. The chant is usually done during special occasions such as weddings, harvest or even funerals by the Ifugao women. It would last as long as three days and is an intangible masterpiece of the Ifugao people. Unlike most tourist attraction, this treat is a meant to be heard and absorbed.

Ifugao Rice Terraces

Another point for the Ifugao! This majestic man-made wonder looks like a giant stairway leading to the sky. The Rice Terraces were already in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1995 and have ever since been attracting an array of tourists both local and international. Although you may seem to lump each terrace with one another, there are actually five major ones namely Banaue (the most famous), Hapao, Kiangan, Mayoyao, and Batad.

Tubbataha Reef

Located within the territory of Palawan, Tubbataha has been dubbed “The Philippine NatureScape” because of its diverse collection of wildlife from sea birds to endangered sea turtles. Diver’s everywhere converge in its sea with the promise of seeing colorful and unique aquatic flora and fauna.
Vigan Heritage Villlage
Famous for its astounding architecture and landscape designs, Vigan has been included in the World Heritage List since 1999. Located in Ilocos Sur, the village reflects the blending of different local and international cultures through its architectural design.
