Named the “Summer Capital of the Philippines” because of its rather cool climate, Baguio offers a variety of sites that would delight anyone who decides to visit its splendor. Because of its altitude of about 1,500 meters, Baguio can also be called a city in the sky. It has of course earned another name as “City of Pines” because of its abundant flora population.

Here are a few highlights of the places most seen in Baguio. Make sure to pack your camera and extra batteries because each spot just begs for a picture or two.

Lion’s Head

The massive head of the renowned “King of Beasts” located near the road is sure to fire up cameras. A picture beside this literally great beast would be an excellent primary photo in your internet accounts.

The Mansion

The President of the Philippines official summer getaway, the place is made to look like Buckingham Palace. Although entrance is restricted, the site’s beauty warrants a visit from tourists.

Ifugao Woodcarvers Village

Souvenirs? Look no further. This site offers a variety of exquisitely hand carved items in all different sizes for your picking.

Wright Park

Located in front of The Mansion, it is the home of one of Baguio’s landmark, the “Pool of Pines”. In the Riding Circle also located in the park, one can hire horses for some picture taking.

Baguio Botanical Garden

Aptly named because this is the site where pine seedlings are grown to keep Baguio surrounded by fauna. However, the garden is also called by the name of “Igorot Village”. This is because Igorot tribesmen clothed in their native dress are happy to participate in another bout of picture taking.
