Mount Apo

The highest mountain peak in the country, a visit in Davao would not be complete without seeing this landmark. Or better yet, experience the full wonder of mountain by scaling its more than 10,300 feet. If you’re in the mood to climb a mountain and meet other people, time your climb to coincide with “Conquer Mt. Apo” projects by the Davao Government during the Holy Week. With different possible tracks that can be utilized going up and down, Mount Apo would surely provide more than enough view of flora and fauna during the 4-day hike.

Philippine Eagle Nature Centre

Its main attraction, the Philippine Eagle which resides mainly in the Eastern part of the country has faced fears of extinction. It was also known as the monkey-eating eagle although the specie has been known to feed on other animals such as flying squirrels or lemurs. At the entrance of the center are souvenirs ranging from shirts and key chains for a reasonable price.

The Durian fruit

Known for its strong odor, large size and prickly exterior – but mostly for its odor. There are those who find its odor pleasing and then there are those who don’t. Personally, I find its smell appetizing. For people who can’t stand its smell, pinch your nose and taste. You will find that its odor is not directly proportional to its taste.
